Florida 3/14 + 3/15
Travel Day + Day 1
The month of March 2020 will go down in the history books. My school was closed for a week due to the coronavirus. The combination of being off from school and having amazing airfare prices made this a perfect time to visit my family. Additionally, my grandpa is 94, so we try to visit as often as possible. We thought that we wouldn’t be leaving our house for weeks, but looked at flights, saw the prices, booked it, and were on a flight the same day.
We flew out of Newark and travelled and arrived in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday the 14th.

The next morning, (Sunday the 15th), we took a walk on Deerfield beach. Surprisingly, there was a good amount of people there. In this time of social distancing and self-quarantine, I think that parks and beaches are a perfect place to go to get out of the house without being too close to people. The beach was beautiful and I had lots of wildlife sightings.

My family got sandwiches from Laspada’s, a deli where they throw deli meats and catch them with bread.

I went to the Corner Bakery Cafe, a cute cafe that is home to my favorite sandwich, the Chicken Pomodori Panini.

I finished off the day by doing some work at Starbucks.

While I was at Starbucks, I spent a while editing this photo. I took 11 different photos that I took of the same bird, lined them up, erased to expose the bird in every shot, and blended each picture together. This is the first time that I have created a panorama by stitching photos together and I am very excited about how it turned out.

Here are some closer looks at each section.

I want to try to do a blog post a every day or every other day while I am here. The goal of this is to get myself to be more creative and try to make pictures of ordinary things exciting because I will not be doing much between social distancing and online school.
