North Bound

This past Halloween, I got my first photo pass on my own. What I mean by this is that I have had many photo passes before this, through friends and family, but this was my first that I had gotten completely on my own. It was very last minute. I emailed the band’s tour manager the night before, and miraculously, he said yes!

I have emailed so many bands, tour managers, publicists, venues, etc and have gotten either no reply or a no. This was the first time that someone had actually said yes!

So in the middle of the night, I had to go tell my mom that she would have to drive me to Long Island the next day. On my way to the venue, I picked up my 50mm f1.8 prime lens from the MicroCenter in Yonkers, New York. This lens was a necessity as I was still shooting with the two lenses that came with the camera. It allowed me to get the brightness, clarity, and depth of field that I needed without the grainy ness that came with the other lenses. I picked up my pass and my ticket at the box office and headed inside.

It was Halloween, so the band members were wearing costumes. They were a lot of fun to shoot and I was really happy with the results of my new lens.

It was crazy to be able to do a shoot while using a lens for the very first time. Besides that, I saw some friends, and saw great bands!
